Agree with you on Brown, LC. I'm more than happy for him to hold his spot in the team at the moment.

i havent changed my opinion on MM but he made a very valid point last week about BROWN needing time to settle in and get used to his new team mates and there
style of play.
im comfortable with him except for his kicking but he is not the lone ranger there - but i like his physical style of play which i think we lacked also he is a real swing player who although not a star does fill holes at both ends as a pinch hitter - maybe i should re - phrase some of that comment. |

Two things i noticed last night which you dont necessarily see on the TV
First the Anvil busts his balls to get to as many contests as possible, and chases unlike Rocca. Second, Jack Anthony has a long way to go fitness wise, a few times i noticed he had no 2nd or 3rd efforts in him at all. |

I like the ANVIL. He is 100kgs of man throwing himself around with complete disregard for his and everyone elses safety. |

Interesting game style wise but pleasing that most are " in form " for next week.
We really only won Q2 but were able to bounce back on the scoreboard the other times when Esendon's kamikaze corridor style missed the targets. You wont get that many easy goals next week. C3 I dont think took one contested mark. #1 did obviously well but it highlights my belief that all this talk about the new smaller mobile ruckmen that the media get sucked in by is BS. That only works as a stop gap , usually by necessity , not for a season. Ryder is getting run into the ground. I admire Knights philosophy but you still need some bigger bodied clearance guys to make up for all the fast but small link'n carry boys. Watson is definitely important in that team. And I'm not sure the kicking power of the others is potent enough. Just the same we were opened up terribly thru the middle in Q1 and if that happened against the Dogs we'll be 5 down in a flash. Have to say LeBrown puts in and seems to have lost some weight, and Wellers, Dick and Beams add something to the mix . We're about to find out how much something that is. |

Geez Doc, considering the soarce (heh) that is positively a glowing review.
Haven't heard you this upbeat about the Pies for a while.... Don't go getting your hopes up though as we know what happens. I am very much keeping a lid on it until post Bulldogs/Hawks. If we are two wins after that, I will allow myself some 1990 style excitment. |

Woods, definitely not getting my hopes up .
Sadly no young big forward with stickies appears to be on the horizon to balance out a competitive -ish group overall. As the Saints/Cats game showed , when the pressure is immense and no goals are easy the game breakers will be BIG contested marks . And LONG goals. Hanging onto key forwards who cant do either means your midfield has to be really superb. Ours aint. As you know it's a long held belief which I see no reason to change |

I think we have the long goals bit covered quite well, and unless I'm watching another broadcast, I've seen Anthony nearly kill himself taking
contested marks. Dick and Davis this year have made our forwards very potent, even moreseo if the pressure is on.
Will agree on Bombers, I'm sure alot of their players can't kick beyond 40m |

Koschitzke and Riewoldt show that big power forwards are still needed. Their kicking is both long and straight.
We haven't got these power forwards and any pretenders to these roles which we may have certainly cant kick straight. We also saw how proper ruckman are still a necessity in football. St.Kilda had a Grant Thomas inspired deficiency in the ruck and fixed that problem. Mick Shithouse still doesn't see a problem even though the problem may have cost him a flag in 2002, 2003 and 2007. Will be interesting to see how many wins we get in the next 4 weeks. I think the Grange Hermitage collection is safe for at least a few more years even though some on here have popped their corks already. Yesterday's Etihad game should have sobered them up a bit. |

That is 100 per cent dribble. Riewoldt and Kosi are the two most unreliable shots for goal going around. They also lack the quality of small forwards we have which is why our forward line is one of the best going around. |

"Riewoldt and Kosi are the two most unreliable shots for goal going around."
Think before you speak Santo.... I hate St Kilda more than any other team, but....: Reiwoldt 45G 25B 64% Kossi 35G 14B 71% and for perspective: John Anthony 33G 14B 70%
