AFL say no to extra rookie spot... SO Eddie must have been right with his position. Well done Eddie. |

We already new Cornes is a fucking idiot. But he is even further progressed as a wanker after his article yeasterday. Richmond can still get Cousins but they need to decide between he and some youngster called Gourdis. At least we didn't let the opposition get a free kick so to speak. |

hmmm, let me see who to take a punt on, Cousins (recent superstar) or Goudis (sounds like a cheese) ? The fact they are having a board meeting on this warms my
heart that Richmond will continue to fuck up.

Its the AFL's job not Eddies. About time he learnt to shut up and keep us out of it. It was nothing to do with us until he decided to open his big trap, again. I am sure he has AD's phone number, maybe he could try the direct route me the media one. But if you love seeing the club exposed to counter attacks, go for it. |

well clokey, whether you like his opinion or not, the fact is that every time Collingwood's name is mentioned in the media, the media monitor ratings go up
and the more we can charge for advertising - this is how you make money branding. So you take the good with the bad, or become melbourne. Do you think they
would even bother getting Schwab's opinion on this?

No Tarz as he would not respond. They ring Eddie cos he can't help himself. Despite saying he was taking a back seat with the media he is now out there
chasing headlines.
You like it, I don't. Different opinions, I wont be changing mine, and I dont expect you to. |

Eddie was wrong with his position, the AFL have made the wrong decision, and Demetriou is full of shit, as per normal when talking about how this is so much
different than the decision on Ramanauskas. There was a system in place to deal with the Ramanauskas situation too.
That said, Richmond's spokesweenie is equally full of it when talking about how they're committed to a young player with their PSD pick, and can only take Cousins if they have an extra. Polak to the rookie list, pick random young guy + Cousins, and then 3 more rookies is functionally equivalent to pick Cousins and 4 rookies, followed by Polak to the long term injured and random young guy onto the list as his replacement. Only difference would be how Polak's salary counts against the cap, if it's somehow cheaper to have him on the rookie list instead of the long term injury list. And that instead of effectively picking at 1, 9, 25, 41 in the rookie draft, they now have to pick at 8, 24, 40, 56. Hope they do grab Cousins. |

As for Richmond trying to get an extra player on to their list (and that's all it was) I say Fuck Them Rama was totally different, he was not even a listed player. Polak is a contracted player. Polak can go onto a long term injury list and a rookie can be elevated in his place, just like any other Club. |

Murrayy wrote: Of course they can all be wrong. They are wrong about making an exemption for Polak. Most of the other clubs seem to be simply having a sook out of reflexive selfishness. There was more than a bit of talk when Polak was still in hospital about how it would be possible to move him to the rookie list, to ensure he stayed on a list during his long recovery. I can remember both Richmond and the AFL mentioning it (got no source though, and too lazy to go and search), how exemptions could & would be made to help look after Polak's future. Even though there is no mechanism to demote someone to a rookie list, other than to delist them, and then redraft them as a rookie, assuming nobody else gets in first. If it would have been ok to make an exception then, and move him to the rookie list despite there not being a mechanism for it, why is it suddenly not ok now? Ramanauskas wasn't totally different, all Essondon had to do was keep him listed, and then move him to the long term injury list. But they didn't, they dumped him. Then they decided to pretend to have a heart, and wanted to make him a rookie, even though he wasn't eligible because he'd played too many games. Again, they could have done it the normal way, drafted him to the actual list, and then moved him to the injury list and promoted a rookie instead. All the mechanisms were in place for Essendon to look after Ramanauskas without getting any sort of exemption. But that's not what happened. It's simply the AFL running another double standard, and making another poor decision. If Richmond don't take Cousins tomorrow, I still reckon he should become part of the inaugural Gold Coast team. |

Murrayy, Paddy and Lost Cause and anyone else that has gotten involved in this total waste of emotions.
I hope this can help you.........It is all you really need. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLxTpsIVzzo Gather around...........................Big group hug. Regarding Cuz, well as I previously posted. The AFL's decisions are based on the notion that they do not want Cuz to play. They have made it as difficult as they can without actually stopping him. They want the Cuz saga to run its final course and end tomorrow. I think to the AFL he is now becoming an Anti-Villian and to have him playing again will increase his public appeal. They do not want this. The AFL cannot come out and expose Cuz just as we could not explain clearly why we passed on him. Lets not be silly about it, as it is self evident. For all the piss and wind they have spouted over the last week here is their opportunity. Lets now see if the Tigers have the strength of conviction to take him. I think not. |

I agree. Demetriou & co seem to be completely against Cousins returning, but don't want to actually come out and ban him, because they'd rightfully
cop it from all sides, including the AFLPA. Almost worked, but Richmond have just taken him in the PSD. I might have to stop hating Richmond so much now.
Nobody wants Nick Davis though. Wonder where he'll end up now? |

Good to see him get picked up. Hope he blitzes.
Nick Davis will be working at the local KFC within the week. What a waste of prodigious talent. Was my fave player when he started out with us. Any guy who can kick 36 goals off the half backline in a season has something special. |
