The Tour De France starts tonight with a 15 kilometer time trial around Monaco. I'm hoping to see Cadel finnaly take out the yellow jersey. Wondering if
anyone else will be following the Tour?

Yes unfortunately so Tarz and no doubt there will be more cheats at this years tour. However I do think most of this years contenders will be drug free. Anyway
Cadel Evans is no cheat so we can still get behind him even if a large portion of the riders are on the juice.

Not a cheat because he is Australian? Can't get near the top without extra help.

If I was Armstrong I would be putting a vial of blood in storage every day of this race.
The French will be out to get him big time. |

GreatGonzo wrote: No he isn't a cheat because he is always speaking out about how disappointing it is when a cyclist gets done for cheating. Imagine how he would be treated in Australia if he got caught cheating. He would never be stupid enough to cheat. As for not being good enough well that's a very ignorant comment seeings he has lost by under a minute twice in a row in a race that stretches over 3500 kilometers. Cadel has also been in a weak team and gets absolutely no help in the mountain stages as compared with his rivals who basically get pulled up the mountains by their teammates. |

Plenty of athletes have been lying about it before. I guess if he wasn't Australian you would view his words differently.

GreatGonzo wrote:No I wouldn't I don't say Lance Armstrong's on drugs because he's American. There's no evidence that Cadel Evans is on drugs anyway, just think about how many times he would have been tested in last years tour. Did any of them tests show drugs in his body? NO |

Just think how many times other riders have been tested and they still find some.

I reckon Lance's drug company has a good chance this year after missing out the last few.

Testing fails because it is reactive. As new drugs appear they develop the procedure to find it. They are always one or two steps behind the cheats.
I still think this might be the cleanest Tour for some time. Maybe the focus should be on the positives like Armstrong's performance last night. He may be older and coming back from a four year layoff but his brain has all the strategic acumen it showed in his long reign at the top. |

GreatGonzo wrote: Yeah but the majority of riders wouldn't take drugs so i would think they catch most and at least in cycling they are determined to stop drugs in their sport rather than brush it under the carpet like some other sports do.What makes you so suspicious of Cadel anyway? |
