Posts: 801 9-Jun-2009 04:18:32	Hopefully we get a relatively easy group - as stated previously we won't slip under anyone's guard this time around. The one thing we do have is an absolute top-flight keeper. Having been to a few Fulham games this season, and reading the local press, it is obvious that Mark Schwarzer is a huge part of the reason the Whites had their best ever result in the Premier League. There's the game plan Pim - 11 blokes behind the ball, 0-0 draw, and Schwarzer does the rest in the shoot-out.

He kills McDonald by playing him one out, he is neither tall or fast and does his best work feeding off the scraps of a big physical striker ala viduka or kennedy He barely starts Kennedy in any matches (lately due to fitness) and when he does he leaves him isolated against 3 or 4 even at his dominating height thats not easy Uses Cahill as a striker, the game against japan where he left Timmy up front by himself while Kennedy played with himself on teh bench was a shambles, waste of two players Fantastic effort by Pim to get us to qualify and yes our defense had to be reinforced, but 4-2-3-1 especially with how deep we play will see us slaughtered come south africa and we are better then that

There is no one who plays in Ronaldo's position as well as he does it doesn't matter how much money they spend on a replacement they will still miss him next season.IMO

Even if we were offered double the $ I doubt SAF would have wanted to sell him. 40 goals a season, many of them made out of nothing (including those unstoppable floating free kicks he does) - we're gunna need to find 2 world class players to replace that. Ribery and Benzema would be a good start, but won't surprise me if they go for value again and try and build a superstar like we did with CR rather than pinch one. This Valencia kid looks all but a done deal. Whats this about Vidic?
