Posts: 211 29-Mar-2009 18:13:53	Tags : None first of honestly this is not a shit stirring post as i have been a fan of hine but i would like some words of wisdom here thanks. is our recruiting as good as we are made to believe as we have had some good picks lately but have we used them wisely and recruited the right players or players for our needs. we still havent got a quality ruck a dynamic mid or a gun defender and yes i know they dont grow on trees but ffs we have had some good picks. should we have traded dids - leon - to get better picks. is derek hine as good as we think or still being handicapped by MM with this good bloke shit and good citizens. remember when MM has left a club they were fucked and had to rebuild with his persistence of playing favourites and not giving kids a go unless a spate of injuries occurred. this man MM is so set in his ways like cement he will never change so we cannot go anywhere and he will not take advice from anyone as he is always right.

We, on the other hand, seem to have constructed a reputation [ largely mythic if Sidey is the best of them ] that we are bursting with young talent . Who couldnt get a game before BJ or Toovey.

Lets not forget that Dids wasted away in the 2's for a good part of his first year cause MM wanted to educate! him. Wallace and MM have something in common. Jelly legs as coaches. Always go back to what is familiar to hold onto their jobs. Even Sheedy succombed to the same in his final years. Losing the 800K is a primary factor in his decision making now. If he is not coaching next year then move him on. NOW!!!! There is a saying: The path you take to avoid a certain event may in fact bring you closer to its outcome. Mick is on the road to nowhere.

McCarthy, Goldsack, O'Brien, Anthony, Pendlebury, Cox, Brown, Clarke, Reid, Wellingham, Cook, Dawes are pretty handy types for young kids. Dont remember anyone bagging MM when he got our team over the line by 85 points against geelong last year. Very easy to critise when you lose 1 game. In fact its almost pathetic. We have a very young list. Infact of the youngest 8 teams in the comp only Collingwood and Hawthorn are in it. Our time isnt right now. With Buckley, Burns, Wakelin, Clement, Licuria leaving in the last 2 years that leaves a big whole in our leadership ground and experience. They have done a good job considering.
