Well well, we are in for some fun times ahead.
I reckon Matthews has most likely done the smart thing by fucking off now. With most of the young talent in this State being drawn into GC club, won`t leave much from here to pick from. You wonder how the old crew at the Brions feel about having one off the "Good old Boys" as their boss now? I reckon they would be thinking about jumping ship fairly quickly. It all sounds a bit incestuous doesn`t it. I look forward to the massive implosion that will happen over the Summer. |

Seems a bit strange that 10 year contracted triple premiership coach quits one day and next day untried favourie son is given the job the next day.
Those half time pearls of wisdom (or was it the bleeding obvious) on Ch 7 must have struck a chord with the Brions chieftans. I guess there's not much else out there at the moment. |

Yeah Rump,
It all has a lingering stench to it. Did you see the smug bastard (Voss) on Before the Game Saturday night? I would not be surprised if a few draft picks from GC go to the Brions for a couple of the older "my best mates". Still spewing we didn`t grab Bradshaw 2 years ago when we had the chance. I rate him way above Browneye, who in a lot of Brion fans eyes, is over rated.

How many games did Heater and Dids miss, I think they would have gone close to that figure with match payments missed.

Dids would be on an unconditional. He gets paid regardless.

Yes but more related to termination payouts I would think e.g we're not paying the remaining 2 years out.
He is good enough to demand being paid if he is suspended for being naughty. Every team needs a cowboy. |

Voss cracks the shits about this bloke quite often.
I guess he doesn`t like licking Vossy`s arse like the rest of them. |

for a group that was supposed to be hard as nails on the field and rah rah rah, they are a bunch of whining little pussies. http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/sport/afl/story/0,26576,25512514-19742,00.html http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/sport/afl/story/0,26576,25515108-19742,00.html |

What a star Rich will become. Best foot skills since Buckley and his first quarter pass V cats to I think Bradshaw was one of the best I have seen in a decade,
probably since some of Bucks' work. Has a weird looking body, ala Kerr, but has all the traits to kick arse for a decade. What a steal at pick 7.

Yes, interesting where he went . We all can all be caught up in the body type/ pace categories but you cant forget the footy nous , and especially kicking
components.
Example though of big picture needs. I wouldnt pick him before a top key postion player. And I like Hill. But I'm not a big Nic Nat fan. Dont know the others well enough. |

Last years draft | #234 | ||

I think the last draft will be equal to the strongest ever.
There is plenty of talent in it and we won't see the best from Watts, Yarran and Hurley for a couple of years yet. I don't think we will complain from what we have seen from Beams, and Steele is a very nice kick. |

on rich tarz, he has a nice shoe and built very well. but he has that dime a dozen feel to him, where you dont wanna butcher a top 3 pick. freo cop bad press
over drafting but they made the right call with hill.
hill is the one that could go crazy on gf day. has that winmar type freakshow ability. pick 7 is about right. |

yarran was a reach. looks very slow compared to other 'type' players. pc enough. blues got caught up in the cyril buzz and it seems they got burnt. put
him in the sampi category, great wafl - shiza afl.

Chris Yarran will hopefully go down as a recruiting disaster. Daniel Rich is going to be an absolute ripper for the Lions.

Rich is a gun. No arguments or correspondence entered here into.
I also get that same feeling with Zieball. Has a Buckley feel about him. Hill is going to be a huge star too. From our perspective, Beams already looks a Scotty Burns in the making. Sidebottom has been good without eliciting the same excitement as Beams, but he atleast seems to be able to kick with both pegs - not to be under estimated when you consider some of our recent drafting cock ups. It looks to have been a pretty good draft for most clubs...but Watts at 1 and Nic Nat at 2...well, you would be shitting yourself at this stage. As for Yarran, it is too early to tell, but I reckon Carlton missed a trick but not grabbing either Rich or Zieball...they will live to regret it. Rich seemed to fall out of favour with many clubs on draft day after being touted as a probable #2 pick. It seems his vanilla size scared many clubs away, but he looks very polished and has that destructive raking kick. The Dude |
