A panic cutting to make the most of the last uncompromised draft for a while.
Aints have sliced deep too for the same reason. |

I thought non-rookie draft picks get a minimum 2 year contract??
Must have been rubbish to get delisted after one year |

I reckon the pies will draft Tom hislop that's why we dumped Thoolen.
Hislop if given the chance will ptrove to be valuable.Had huge wraps the in 2006 superdraft. 20 years of age.Huge tank, strong in and under middie, has copped afew injuries in the past its becuse he is so hard.at the ball Only problem at bomber land was a bit of a lad, caused a bit of a dust up with lovett dosen't mind a drink, that's why bombers delisted him. He has alot of upside, and we need a strong in and under type like him.Originally from Tassie if he is given a chance at pie land could prove to be a monty. I always hoped we would have picked this kid up in 2006, but the bombers beat us to the punch. Now we have the chance to grab and we should ! Will prove to be a very good addition to our midfield. He is also a collingwood supporter so i am told. Perfect fit for us! |

Doesn't Hislop have "life style issues"?
Hence the reason he got the flick from the Bombers. I don't believe this bullshit that it was 'his choice' to leave, they threw him out. |

Thoolen did the time trial at Olympic Park today, so he may be rookied.
Either that or the kid doesn't know how to get home. |

Good on the Kid!!!!. Never die wonder if only............ Personally I think he does not have WIT, but there is one thing I know and its you really don't know what is inside someone. He has a few months to change someones mind..................Strength to you Tobias. |

Makes sense to me to pick him up.Too many upsides to pass up. |

if we won't even take cousins, a bona fide star, because of off field problems, what on earth makes you think we'll take hislop, a guy with off field
problems who has barely been in the system and shown nothing?
not saying we definitely won't get him, since only the club knows that, but to join the dots on that being the reason thoolen was delisted is oh so bigfooty. |

Thoolen is about as quick as a slug with the u turn of a mac truck. Couldnt believe how bad he was when i saw him. Very similar to Billy
Morrison but worse.

In summary, Collingwood has made the following changes to its senior list since the conclusion of season 2008: Senior List (Currently 33 + 2 veterans, allowed 38 + 2 veterans) On ( 3 ): Sharrod Wellingham (elevated from rookie list) Brent Macaffer (elevated from rookie list) Anthony Corrie (traded) Off ( 8 ): Scott Burns (retired) Shane Wakelin (retired) Ryan Lonie (retired) Brodie Holland (delisted) Sam Iles (delisted) Chris Egan (delisted) Toby Thoolen (delisted) Rhyce Shaw (traded) Retained (30 + 2 veterans for 2009): John Anthony Jaxson Barham Nathan Brown Chris Bryan Martin Clarke Travis Cloke Ryan Cook Shannon Cox Leon Davis Chris Dawes Brad Dick Alan Didak Josh Fraser Tyson Goldsack Ben Johnson Tarkyn Lockyer Nick Maxwell John McCarthy Paul Medhurst Shane O'Bree Heritier O'Brien Scott Pendlebury Simon Prestigiacomo (2009 veteran - outside senior list of 38) Ben Reid Anthony Rocca (2009 veteran - outside senior list of 38) Sean Rusling Heath Shaw Danny Stanley Dane Swan Dale Thomas Alan Toovey Cameron Wood That leaves the club with 33 senior-listed players plus two veterans, and subsequently five picks in the 2008 AFL Draft. These picks will be 11, 29, 45, 46 and 77. In changes to the club's rookie list, Collingwood recently informed Luke Casey-Leigh he will not be offered a position on the club's rookie list for season 2009. Meanwhile, former New South Wales scholarship holder Scott Reed has agreed to a two-year deal as a NSW rookie-listed player, and Queenslander Lachlan Keeffe will be officially placed on the rookie list after signing with the Magpies as a pre-selected rookie back in December 2007. Reed and Keeffe join promising Irishman Kevin Dyas on the rookie list for season 2009, with the club to add four players in the rookie draft on December 16 with selections 11, 27, 43 and 59. Because the Magpies will have two veterans in 2009, the club can have seven players on its rookie list instead of nine. Rookie List (Currently 3, club allowed 7) On (2): Scott Reed (NSW rookie) Lachlan Keeffe (Pre-selected rookie from Queensland) Off (3): Sharrod Wellingham (elevated to senior list) Brent Macaffer (elevated to senior list) Luke Casey-Leigh (delisted) Retained (1): Kevin Dyas |

Good I never rated Thoolen from what I saw. Wouldn't mind giving Hislop a go, maybe we will give hime a go with pick 45,46 or 77. And people comparing Hislop a 20yo kid's of field indiscretions to Ben Cousins is quite comical. |

I never said their indiscretions were equal. I said why on earth would we take an unproven kid who was delisted for off field issues, if we won't even take
Cousins, who is a proven star? I guess it is funny though, the fact we are too scared to take a risk on cuz when it will only cost us a bit of cap room and a
pre-season pick.

DufflecoatSupreme wrote: I think you might need to raise your horizens just a little. If Cousins got back on the gear while playing for us, it would cost us far more than the minor matters you suggest. Am I correct in thinking, you don't really understand what the real issues are? BTW compare doesn't mean equal |
